Funeral services for Verda Anderson, 75, of Port Sulpher were held Sunday, January 6, 2019 from Acme Baptist Church, Acme with Bishop Jack Knapp officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Acme and passed away December 28, 2018 in Gretna.
She was preceded in death by her brother Everett Allwell Jr., her son Michael Denny and her grandson Anthony Denny Jr.
She is survived by siblings Bill Allwell and Sherry Reech; sons, Anthony Denny Sr., Randall Denny Sr. and Brian Anderson; grandchildren, Dionna Denny, Randal Denny Jr., Brandy Pflepsen, Kyle Denny, Mikayla Deny, Kriston Hanan, Nicholas Molero, and Ella Denny; great-grandchildren, Liam, Shayne, Lilly and Jonah and several nieces and nephews.
Verda was an unequaled, loving mother who sacrificed unendingly for her children. She was a devoted friend, avid gardener, animal lover and fisherwoman. She will be deeply and solely missed. Those wishing to make donations on her behalf to organizations concerned with the welfare of children and animals would honor her.
Pallbearers were Randall Denny Sr., Brian Anderson, Randall Denny Jr., Brandy Denny, Kyle Denny and Darryl Mowers.
